Thuraya Zeidan, Passaic High School Teacher, posts extremist cleric - if we had more arms, we could liberate Palestine
Is Passaic High School ok with having such an extremist in the classroom?
Thuraya Zeidan, much covered in this substack, English and Language Arts teacher at Passaic High School in New Jersey, took to her instagram account, DecolonizetheClassroom, to repost portions of a speech by Imam Mahmoud Al Hasanat. Watch below:
In it - he criticises the Arab world for not sending weapons to Hamas:
“Where are your weapons, Oh Arabs. By God, if you had given the people of Gaza just one percent of your weapons Palestine would have been liberated…send us your cannons, not your tears”
Alongside the video, Zeidan shares her thoughts : Allies and activists must “listen to the people who are on the ground”, those who follow “thawabet” - the principles which include armed resistance and rejection of normalisation with Israel and rejection of “western liberal narratives”. The Arab and Muslim world have disappointed her. The West is a lost cause - even the most “progressive” third party candidates want to “interfere in affairs within Palestine” and encourage Palestinians to live “alongside the most violent regime that exists.”
For Zeidan, being against “the resistance” is being against “the people.” She says “there is a collective fear of liberation across the globe.”
Again - Zeidan is a current teacher at Passaic High School, but in her spare time she spreads her extremism on her instagram, at her seminars and talks, and at events hosted by Islamists such MEND in the UK.
Does Passaic High School know what goes on in her classroom?
