Chair of English Dept. at Maine West High School, Parkridge Illinois, praises Hamas - to speak at American Muslims for Palestine event
AMP is under investigation for terror financing link
Dr. Sawsan Jaber, Chair of the English Department at Maine West High School and “District Equity Leader” took to her instagram stories to praise Hamas. Jaber won the Cook County Teacher of the Year award last year.
She reposted a story which stated that Palestinians should avoid “normalizing the perception” that Hamas and other “legitimate resistance” groups are terrorists because it sounds like making excuses for Hamas’ actions rather than seeing them as “legitimate resistance”. “Resistance is an obligation” and Gazan children have grown up understanding the “farce of Western democracy.”
Unfortunately, her extremism and activism are not new to us and have been well documented in this Substack (including mourning Yahya Sinwar and engaging in Holocaust inversion).
But this doesn’t seem to bother Maine West High School who proudly promote Jaber on their instagram page.
Next week, Jaber will take part in a “transforming education” panel organized by “The Worthy Educator”.
Her co-panelist liked a talk at the Missouri Elementary Math Learning Network which argued that “all mathematics teachers are identity workers…they contribute to the identities students construct as well as constantly reproduce what mathematics is…”
Next month, Jaber will speak at American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) “Palestine Convention 2024” - billed as the largest gathering for Palestine in the United States.
AMP is under investigation for terror financing links in Virginia and recently the House Ways and Means Committee Chair asked the Virginia Attorney General to investigate AMP “inciting riots and engaging in illegal activity” post October 7th.
In the meantime, Jaber, who mourns Sinwar and sees Hamas as “legitimate resistance” continues to teach students and be given a platform at educational institutions, conferences and seminars across the country.
